This flooring gets its name from the infamous cocktail. Believed to be the first cocktail ever mixed, the Sazerac was created in 1838 by Creole apothecary Antoine Peychaud. It’s believed that he first served it in an egg cup called a coquetier, the origins for the word “cocktail”. The cocktail is named for Antoine’s favourite French brandy, the Sazerac-de-Forge et fils.
