Dark and Stormy // Timber Flooring
Our stunning Vienna Woods Dark and Stormy boards are sourced from Slow Grown FSC-certified Lithuanian oak.
The extreme cold winters in Lithuania slows the growth of the oak to produce a very hard, dense wood.
While other sizes are available, the most popular 220mm wide, 20mm thick boards feature a generous 6mm oak top layer. The wide and extra long oak boards up to 2400mm bring a grand ambiance to any interior.
This floor is available in 180mm and 220mm wide planks and also a 600 x 120mm herringbone.
Available in a matt lacquer or hard-wax oil finish. Finished in New Zealand by local artisans.
This board gets its name from a Bermuda Cocktail, Dark and Stormy. Like all good things, the Dark and Stormy evolved over time. Made with the Goslings Black Seal rum, it wasn’t until after World War I before the owners of the Royal Naval Officers Club, who ran a ginger beer factory, discovered that combined, the two drinks made for the perfect cocktail.
